MIDDLETON, Idaho (AP) - Leaders of the southwestern Idaho town of Middleton are working to remodel the Civic Center to make room for an art and history museum.

The Idaho Press-Tribune (https://bit.ly/Tu8SrA ) reports Canyon County granted the city $47,000 to establish the museum. Middleton Mayor Darin Taylor says the city will also contribute $25,000 to the project.

Taylor says the project will include four phases, and he expects the first two to be completed by early summer.

The Civic Center was built in the early 1900s. The project will include remodeling work, an addition of an annex between the center and a nearby building, and new restrooms.
