PISCATAWAY, N.J. (AP) - Former quarterback Mike Teel and Michael Zuckerman have been hired as graduate assistant football coaches at Rutgers.

Coach Kyle Flood announced the hirings Monday, saying Teel will work with the wide receivers while Zuckerman will assist in coaching the special teams.

Teel spent two stints on the coaching staff at Kean as the Cougars’ quarterbacks coach. He also coached at Wagner in 2012.

Teel finished his career as a three-year starter and two-time captain. He ended his career as Rutgers’ leader in yards passing (9,398) and touchdowns (59). He was a sixth-round draft pick of Seattle in 2009 and his career included time with the Patriots and Bears.

Zuckerman enters his second year at Rutgers after serving on the player development staff in 2013. He spent three years working with the football program at the University of Miami as a student.
