HOLLINS, Va. (AP) - PepsiCo is shutting down production at its bottling facility in Hollins.

PepsiCo says in a release that the move will allow it to improve efficiency, fund future investments and be more competitive.

Media outlets report that 30 of the Pepsi Bottling Group facility’s 150 workers have lost their jobs. The remaining workers will do other jobs at the facility.

PepsiCo says it is offering outplacement services to the affected workers.
