CONCORD, N.H. (AP) - New Hampshire officials are reaching out to former foster children to make sure they know they may be eligible for health insurance through the state’s Medicaid program.
Under provisions of the federal health care overhaul law, anyone under age 26 who left state foster care placement after turning 18 and who qualified for Medicaid at the time remain eligible.
Maggie Bishop, director of the state Division for Children Youth and Families says some young adults may not know they are eligible. She says her office is working with numerous partners to spread the word.
