CHICAGO (AP) - A bank robber’s escape with a cellmate from a high-rise Chicago lockup got him an additional three and a half years in federal prison, but not without speaking his mind to the judge.
The Chicago Sun-Times (https://bit.ly/1fjFfmV) reports that Kenneth Conley told U.S. District Judge Gary Feinerman on Monday to “stick it” after Feinerman tacked the latest sentence on to 20 years Conley’s already serving for robbery.
Forty-year-old Conley already had pleaded guilty to the felony escape charge linked to his December 2012 escape from the Metropolitan Correctional Center.
Authorities say Conley and Jose Banks scaled down 17 stories, using a rope fashioned from bed sheets and dental floss.
Both men soon were caught.
Banks already faced up to 80 years for bank robbery, so authorities dropped the escape charge.
