So much for spring-like temperatures. This week will see a return to colder weather, and it’s only going to get colder as the days go by. There is a 60 percent chance of a snow-rain mix expected to hit the Northern Virginia-Washington, D.C., region on Wednesday, forecasters say.
Monday and Tuesday could see temperatures dropping back down to the 20s through much of the north, the National Weather Service reported. The Weather Channel, meanwhile, predicted below-average temps in the Northeast, which will sweep into the more southern states by Tuesday.
“By Wednesday, much of the Midwest, South and Northeast will see temperatures 10 to 30 degrees colder than late-February averages,” the Weather Channel said.
In the D.C. region, temperatures will stay slightly higher at the beginning of this week — with a high of 47 degrees on Monday. But temps will hit near-freezing, 37 degrees, as the week progresses, Weather.com reported.
By Wednesday, there may be a higher chance for a wintery snow-rain mix to hit the area.
