EPPING, N.H. (AP) - New Hampshire police say a 48-year-old Lee woman is dead after crossing the center line of Route 125 in Epping and colliding with three cars.

Epping police identified the woman as Mary Smith of Lee.

Police say the crash happened Friday night at about 7:20, after Smith’s car veered into oncoming traffic. Two cars swerved to avoid her before her car collided with three others.

Foster’s Daily Democrat reports (https://bit.ly/1bYDS2o ) that two passengers in one of the cars were taken to Exeter Hospital after the crash.

Route 125 in Epping was closed for more than three hours while police investigated the crash.

The cause of the accident is still under investigation.
