MARANA, Ariz. (AP) - A brief look at the quarterfinals Saturday of the Match Play Championship:

WINNERS: Jason Day, Rickie Fowler, Ernie Els, Victor Dubuisson.

GOING HOME: Louis Oosthuizen, Jim Furyk, Jordan Spieth, Graeme McDowell.

MATCH OF THE DAY: Rickie Fowler blew a 3-up lead with six holes to play when Jim Furyk won four straight holes to take a 1-up lead. Fowler won the 17th and 18th holes with pars to reach the semifinals.

SHOT OF THE DAY: Ernie Els hit a long pitch out of the desert to 10 feet for birdie on the par-5 eighth hole, a turning point in his win over Jordan Spieth.

BACK AGAIN: Jason Day has reached the semifinals for the second straight year.

NEWCOMER: Victor Dubuisson of France is the 11th player to reach the semifinals in his debut at the Match Play Championship.

STAT OF THE DAY: Ernie Els is the only semifinalist who has more bogeys (16) than birdies (13) through four matches.

NOTEWORTHY: For only the third time in 16 years of this event, the semifinalists are from four continents.

QUOTEWORTHY: “No beers this week, only water.” - Ernie Els, on his week at Match Play.

SUNDAY: Jason Day vs. Rickie Fowler at 9:05 a.m. EST. Ernie Els vs. Victor Dubuisson at 9:20 a.m. The 18-hole championship match starts at 2 p.m. EST.

TELEVISION: 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. EST, Golf Channel; 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. EST, CBS Sports.
