MIAMI (AP) - LeBron James has a broken nose, and his availability for the Miami Heat on Sunday against Chicago will be a game-time decision.
The Heat announced the diagnosis after James’ injury was evaluated Friday. He missed the final 5:50 of Thursday’s game at Oklahoma City when he was struck inadvertently by defender Serge Ibaka on a drive to the basket.
James finished with a dunk but then crumpled to the floor, blood gushing from his nose. He left the court with a towel over his face.
He passed a concussion test but didn’t talk to reporters after the Heat’s victory, instead sitting in front of his locker with a towel draped over his head. The team was off Friday.
ORLANDO, Fla. (AP) -Magic general manager Rob Hennigan announced that the team has bought out Glen Davis’ contract, making the 28-year-old forward a free agent once he clears waivers.
Terms weren’t released but Davis, who was averaging 12.1 points and 6.3 rebounds in 45 games this season, is making just over $6 million this season and is due to make about $6.6 million next season.

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (AP) - Kyle Busch used a perfectly timed pass to edge Timothy Peters in the final few feet to win the NASCAR Truck Series season opener at Daytona International Speedway.
DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (AP) - Dylan Kwasniewski led a Turner Scott Motorsports sweep of the top three spots in qualifying for the Nationwide Series opener at Daytona International Speedway.
DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (AP) - Former Cup champions Bill Elliott and Terry Labonte were among the first-year eligible nominees for the NASCAR Hall of Fame.
Drivers Mike Stefanik and Buddy Baker, and engine builder and team owner Robert Yates also were selected for nomination in their first year. The honorees were announced at Daytona International Speedway by a 22-person committee of representatives from all over NASCAR.

PRO FOOTBALL
SAN FRANCISCO (AP) - San Francisco 49ers CEO Jed York denied his team nearly traded coach Jim Harbaugh to the Cleveland Browns last month for draft picks.
York shot down a report by Pro Football Talk, posting on Twitter: “Is this on the record? Report isn’t true.”
Pro Football Talk reported that a deal was in place that would have sent Harbaugh to coach Cleveland, but he opted to stay put. The 50-year-old Harbaugh just completed his third season of a $25 million, five-year contract and declined to address the subject of an extension or any scheduled talks after the season with York, who had said he hoped to meet with the coach.
EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. (AP) - New York Giants have given Tom Coughlin one-year extension, putting the 67-year-old coach under contract through the 2015 season. The agreement had been expected since the franchise has a history of not allowing its head coach go into a season as a lame duck.
KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) - A suburban Kansas City man has been charged with first-degree involuntary manslaughter in the death of a Kansas City Chiefs fan who was beaten to death in an Arrowhead Stadium parking lot after passing out in the wrong vehicle.
Joshua T. Bradley, 23, of Independence, Mo., was arraigned Friday and is being held on $75,000 cash-only bond. He is accused of striking the blow that killed Kyle Van Winkle during a Dec. 1 Chiefs game against the Denver Broncos.
VIENNA, Va. (AP) - Washington Redskins tight end Fred Davis was charged Thursday with driving while intoxicated, a day after he was suspended for an NFL substance-abuse policy violation.
Davis, 28, was stopped in Tysons Corner about 4 p.m. Thursday and arrested, Fairfax County Police said.

California Athletic Director Sandy Barbour says it was “beyond inappropriate” for Arkansas coach Bret Bielema to reference the death of Golden Bears player Ted Agu while defending his position on the NCAA rule proposal to slow up-tempo offenses.
Bielema brought up Agu while speaking to reporters Thursday night and in an interview with SI.com. Bielema supports the proposal to require offenses to wait until 10 seconds runs off the 40-second play clock before snapping the ball. He says not allowing defenses time to substitute can put players in danger, especially those with the genetic condition sickle cell trait, which can which can alter red blood cells during strenuous exercise and cause muscles to break down.
Agu, 21, died during a conditioning workout Feb. 7. No cause of death has been released.

MARANA, Ariz. (AP) - For the third straight round, Graeme McDowell pulled off improbable escape to advance to the Match Play Championship quarterfinals at Dove Mountain. This time, all he had to do was win the last two holes against Hunter Mahan to force overtime and make a 20-foot par putt to stay in the match on the 20th hole. He won with a birdie on the 21st hole.
In three matches, McDowell has played 58 holes and has never had the lead until he won.
Jordan Spieth beat Matt Kuchar. Ernie Els ousted Jason Dufner, Victor Dubuisson beat Bubba Watson, and Rickie Fowler won on the last hole against Sergio Garcia. The other winners were Louis Oosthuizen and Jason Day.

GLENDALE, Ariz. (AP) - Los Angeles Dodgers great Sandy Koufax was hit by a foul ball off the bat of Andre Ethier during batting practice.
Koufax was standing in the bullpen down the third base line when he was hit Friday. The 78-year-old was struck on the forehead, but told reporters as he walked off the field that he was fine.

PRO HOCKEY
DETROIT (AP) - Detroit Red Wings captain Henrik Zetterberg had back surgery and the team expects him to be evaluated again in about eight weeks.
Zetterberg played through pain and scored a goal in Sweden’s opening victory over the Czech Republic last week at the Sochi Olympics, but that was his only appearance before he left because of a herniated disk.

DALLAS (AP) - Attorneys for Lance Armstrong argued that he shouldn’t have to return to arbitration with a Texas company over million-dollar bonuses he received for winning races even if it was revealed years later that the cyclist lied about taking performance-enhancing drugs during his spectacular career.
SCA Promotions of Dallas sued shortly after Armstrong acknowledged last year that he had lied for years about doping. It then asked an arbitration panel to reopen a 2006 settlement it reached over about $12 million in bonuses it said it paid for three of Armstrong’s seven Tour de France victories. He has since been stripped of all seven victories and given a lifetime ban from sports.
The panel voted 2-1 in October to review the case. Armstrong’s attorneys want Judge Tonya Parker to overrule the panel, saying the arbitration case is closed.

LONDON (AP) - Less than a year after pushing to leave Manchester United, Wayne Rooney committed his long-term future to the struggling Premier League champion by signing a lucrative contract through June 2019.
Rooney now looks set to end his playing career at the club he has been at since 2004 after signing a contract reportedly worth around $500,000 a week in a deal that makes him the league’s top earner.

RIO DE JANEIRO (AP) - Top-seeded Rafael Nadal reached the semifinals of the Rio Open, showing no problems with a sore back in defeating Joao Sousa of Portugal 6-1, 6-0.
DELRAY BEACH, Fla. (AP) - John Isner and Marin Cilic notched quarterfinal victories to set up a semi-final match at the ATP World Tour Delray Beach Open.
No. 4 seed Kevin Anderson of South Africa and American qualifier Steve Johnson will meet in the other semifinal.
MARSEILLE, France (AP) - Top-seeded Richard Gasquet of France and defending champion Jo-Wilfried Tsonga both advanced to the Open 13 semifinals.
