SANTEE, S.C. (AP) - Crews are beginning to pick up branches, trees and other debris from the sides of South Carolina’s interstates after the ice storm earlier this month.

The state Department of Transportation is asking drivers to be careful as the crews will be on the shoulders of Interstate 26 and Interstate 95 and there will be some occasional lane closures.

The crews started on I-95 on Saturday. They are going both north and south from the I-26 interchange.

The DOT says additional crews will start removing debris from I-26 on Monday. The work will begin at the I-95 interchange and go both east and west.
