SANTA ANA, Calif. (AP) - A Southern California woman who’s filed repeated “birther” lawsuits challenging Barack Obama’s right to be president says she’ll run for a high state office.
The Orange County Register reports (https://bit.ly/1mz9wry ) Orly Taitz filed papers this month declaring her intention to challenge state Attorney General Kamala Harris in the upcoming election.
Taitz, an Orange attorney and dentist, claims that Obama wasn’t born in the U.S. - despite his Hawaiian birth certificate - and is ineligible to be president.
Taitz has made - and lost - legal challenges to Obama’s presidency in several states.
Her campaign donation website says that if elected state attorney general, Taitz would - among other things - prosecute state officials who ignored evidence that Obama fabricated his birth certificate.
