NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) - Vanderbilt guard Rebekah Dahlman will miss the remainder of the season because of a blood clot in her right shoulder that has kept her out of action since December.
Dahlman has undergone multiple procedures, including surgery on Feb. 5, since being diagnosed with the blood clot in December. Vanderbilt announced Friday the 5-foot-9 freshman would miss the rest of the season.
Dahlman started Vanderbilt’s first nine games but hasn’t played since a 92-71 victory over East Tennessee State. She was averaging 11.4 points per game.
At the time of her injury, Dahlman was leading the Southeastern Conference and was ranked 10th in the nation in 3-point percentage at 51.4 percent (18-of-35).
Vanderbilt (18-8, 7-6 SEC) will host Alabama (12-14, 5-8) on Sunday.
