JACKSON, Wyo. (AP) - A new master plan for Snow King Mountain Resort calls for expanding the ski terrain on the local ski hill just outside Jackson.

Snow King submitted its plan to the U.S. Forest Service this week. Snow King operates under a special permit from the Forest Service.

The ski area has been losing money for years. The number of skiers using the local hill has plummeted by about half over the past eight years.

The Jackson Hole News & Guide reports (https://bit.ly/1gRVuMC ) the new master plan calls for a new lift and runs. The Forest Service would need to conduct environmental studies before signing off on the expansion.
