BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) - Gov. Bobby Jindal is heading to Washington this weekend, to meet with other governors, mingle at the Louisiana congressional delegation’s Mardi Gras ball and have dinner at the White House.
The Republican governor’s office said Jindal left Friday.
He’ll attend events at the National Governors Association’s winter meeting and events solely for GOP governors. He’ll step away from those activities Saturday night to visit the Mardi Gras ball held by Louisiana’s members of Congress.
On Sunday, he’ll be at the White House for a governors’ dinner with President Barack Obama, followed by a governors’ meeting with the president a day later.
Before he heads home Tuesday, Jindal’s office says the governor also will travel to Chicago to fundraise for his policy organization and to speak to the Illinois Republican Party.
