ST. PAULS, N.C. (AP) - The National Weather Service reports one building lost a roof and debris was blocking a road after severe weather struck Robeson County.

Friday’s reports from the weather service said a possible tornado also toppled trees and took down power lines in the area.

In Bladen County, there was a report that a canopy collapsed and damaged several vehicles at the Smithfield packing facility in Tar Heel.

A tornado watch was in effect for a portion of the Interstate 95 corridor, and a severe thunderstorm warning was posted for the early afternoon.

A strong line of storms rumbling through North Carolina produced strong winds, vivid lightning and heavy rain.
