A California Girl Scout smartly set up her cookie sale stand right outside a San Francisco marijuana dispensary — and compared to her earlier efforts at a grocery, business boomed.
The brainchild behind the business plan was Danielle Lei, 13, the Huffington Post reported. She set up her stand in front of The Green Cross marijuana shop earlier this week and sold 117 boxes of the cookies within two hours, Mashable reported.
Fox News reported that she tried selling the wares in front of a grocery store but had significantly less success.
Danielle’s mother had initially approached the shop to obtain permission for the cookie stand. A representative for Girl Scouts of America, meanwhile, said the organization was fine with the stand’s location, so long as the parents approved.
“Our No. 1 concern is the safety of girls,” the representative told the Huffington Post. “As long as they’re following our safety guidelines, we trust our parents to make decisions for their daughters based on the communities that they live in.”
