SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. (AP) - Michael Williams scored 23 points, including 14 of 16 at the line, as Cal State Fullerton avenged a narrow loss to Cal Poly earlier in the season with a 67-59 win Thursday.

Cal State Fullerton (9-16, 4-7 Big West) jumped to a 39-24 halftime lead, led by 13 first-half points from Alex Harris. Tied at 14, CSF put together a 14-4 run en route to the big halftime advantage.

A Chris Eversley 3-pointer cut the CSF lead to 56-50 with 4:37 remaining, but the Titans hit 11 of 14 free throws over the final 4:09 to preserve the win.

Harris had 13 points and Steve McClellan added 10 for the Titans.

Eversley led the Mustangs (9-16, 5-7) with 19 points and 12 rebounds. Dave Nwaba added 13 points.

Cal Poly had won its last three home games against the Titans, and edged CSF 58-56 on the road earlier this season.
