PASCAGOULA, Miss. (AP) - A Moss Point woman has pleaded guilty to felony charges accusing her of abusing and torturing her three children.

The Sun Herald reports (https://bit.ly/1mcREiJ) Stacey Williams pleaded guilty to four charges of aggravated domestic violence, along with three charges of felony child abuse. She entered the pleas Tuesday before Circuit Judge Kathy King Jackson, who deferred sentencing until March 12.

A Jackson County grand jury indicted Williams in April on all seven charges along with a charge of obstruction of justice for allegedly promising her son he could live with his father if he told officials with the state Department of Human Services his mother had not physically abused him. The state opted not to prosecute that offense.

The abuse charges accuse Williams of causing serious bodily harm to her children, now 13, 16 and 18, when she choked them on numerous occasions. In addition, records show, she at one point placed an empty bread bag over a daughter’s mouth and nose to prevent her from breathing.

The state did not recommend a sentence for Williams in exchange for her plea.

Aggravated domestic violence carries a sentence of up to 20 years and a $10,000 fine. Felony child abuse is punishable by 20 years to life in prison with a fine of up to $10,000.

Williams is free on bond pending sentencing.
