COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) - The author of a biography on the late African-American singer Sissieretta Jones is speaking about her book in Columbia.

The University Libraries of the University of South Carolina is hosting author Maureen Lee at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.

Her talk is in the Hollings Library on the Columbia campus.

Lee is speaking about the distinguished music pioneer and her life from 1868 to 1933.
