WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. (AP) - A South Florida man has been sentenced to life in prison for killing two street preachers.

A Palm Beach County judge sentenced 22-year-old Jeriah Woody on Thursday after jurors found him guilty of two counts of first-degree murder and one count of attempted murder.

Authorities say Tite Sufra, Stephen Ocean and Masslanter Alcinor had been evangelizing near the Boynton Beach library in January 2010 when they met Woody and had a discussion about God. Woody left but then returned a short time later and fatally shot Sufra and Ocean.

The Palm Beach Post (https://goo.gl/52p6eL ) reports that Alcinor identified Woody as the shooter.

Woody’s then roommate, Nelens Jean-Pierre, testified that Woody told him he killed the two men to settle a gang-related dispute Jean-Pierre had with Ocean and Alcinor from 2006, before they became preachers.
