WALTHAM, Mass. (AP) - Three Brandeis University students have suffered serious injuries after being struck by a car while crossing a street on the Waltham campus.
Police Sgt. William Gallant tells the Boston Globe (bo.st/1eLpchY) the students were hit by a car while they were in a crosswalk Sunday night. They are an 18-year-old man, an 18-year-old woman and a 22-year-old woman. They haven’t been identified.
The three have been taken to Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, where they are in serious condition. Gallant says two of the students suffered head injuries and the third was unconscious when emergency personnel arrived.
No charges have been filed against the motorist, a 42-year-old Belmont man who was driving along a street that runs from one side of the university to the other.
An investigation is continuing.
