Former Mass. Sen. Scott Brown and Fox News renewed a contract deal that puts the ex-politico back on air as an official contributor, a cable network executive said Wednesday.

The Boston Globe had reported earlier in the day that Mr. Brown and Fox had broken ties — an action that sparked more talk about the ex-senator’s possible run for political office. But Fox put the matter to rest.

“The previous year long agreement expired on February 11th and was never terminated — this was purely administrative,” said Bill Shine, the executive vice president of programming for Fox, in an emailed statement.

Mr. Brown may still re-enter the political field. He moved to New Hampshire weeks ago — a relocation that was seen by political minds as a strategy to seek a Senate seat. Since then, polls have put him in solid favor with voters, compared to Democrat incumbent Sen. Jeanne Shaheen.
