Former Massachusetts Sen. Scott Brown broke ties with Fox News just a year after coming aboard as an official contributor, fueling more talk of a new bid for political office.

“He is currently out of contract with the network,” one Fox News representative told the Boston Globe.

His departure has stoked the flames of a return to politics. Speculation of another run by the Republican was sparked weeks ago, when he moved from Massachusetts to New Hampshire and polls showed he played well with voters against Democrat incumbent Sen. Jeanne Shaheen.

He also made media waves with a recent photograph that showed him standing shirtless among a sea of red-shirted colleagues for a polar bear plunge in New Hampshire.

Mr. Brown was elected to the seat held by Sen. Edward M. Kennedy after he died, but lost his full term re-election bid in 2012 to Elizabeth Warren.
