RALEIGH, N.C. (AP) - More endorsements have come in the Republican U.S. Senate race, this time for Thom Tillis and Mark Harris.

The Republican leadership training group GOPAC said Wednesday it’s endorsed Tillis and will give his campaign the maximum allowed donation. GOPAC President David Avella praised the state House speaker for recent legislation that reduced income tax rates and unnecessary regulations.

Harris this week received the endorsement of the National Organization for Marriage, which, in part, works against efforts to legalize gay marriage. Harris was a leader in the North Carolina group that supported the state constitutional amendment that prohibited gay marriage in 2012. Voters approved the amendment.

The national organization says it was the largest donor to the Vote For Marriage NC group.

The primary is in May.
