A Massachusetts woman, 79, got sick and tired of a persistent man who was trying to shovel driveways for money and sent him fleeing — by brandishing a gun.

The Associated Press reported that Lowell police say a man shoveled the driveway of an elderly couple, without first asking if they wanted the work done, and then knocked on their door demanding payment.

The woman and her 81-year-old husband refused to pay. They ordered him to leave, but he only banged on the door louder, AP said.

So the woman answered the door again — only this time, holding a gun by her side. She didn’t point it, the local newspaper The Sun reported. She simply told the man to walk away.

Police later found the man, and spoke with both him and the couple. No charges were filed by either side, AP reported.
