One of the U.S. Navy ships that was tasked to the Black Sea in case of emergency at the Olympic Games in Sochi never made it — it ran aground as it was pulling into Turkey, a senior U.S. military official said.

The USS Taylor has been out of commission for about a week, NBC reported.

The Taylor, a guided-missile frigate, was supposed to serve as an emergency evacuation vessel for Americans in case of a terror attack at the Olympics.

It pulled into Samsun, Turkey, last Wednesday for a regular port of call but ran aground. The prop was damaged, and it’s still at port, as inspectors look for more damage, NBC said.

The ship is “inoperable for now,” and it’s not known how long it will stay at the port, a senior military official said, to NBC.
