NORFOLK, Va. (AP) - Postal workers are protesting the transfer of some mail processing operations from Norfolk to a facility near Richmond.
The U.S. Postal Service shifted processing of mail sent from Hampton Roads to its Sandston plant last summer.
More than 50 postal workers held a rally against the move on Monday outside the Norfolk complex.
The American Postal Workers Union sponsored the rally.
Union member Al Bradley tells The Virginian-Pilot (https://bit.ly/Msux7i ) that the move will delay mail delivery. He also says workers are trying to save the Norfolk complex.
The Postal Service has said the move would increase efficiency and save money.
