TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (AP) - Tallahassee police say they’ve found the body of a missing Florida State University graduate and legislative intern who disappeared after watching the Super Bowl with friends at a bar.
A Tallahassee Police Department spokesman said Tuesday that police had identified a body found downtown as 23-year-old Ryan Uhre. Uhre disappeared on Feb. 2 and was last seen walking home, wearing a Hawaiian-style shirt with surfing Santas.
Uhre graduated from FSU in December and had just started an internship in the office of Rep. Richard Stark, D-Weston.
Police spokesman David Northway the cause of death has not been determined including whether it appeared to be a homicide or accidental.
Police were able to pinpoint Uhre’s location after examining additional video from downtown businesses. That led to the discovery of a window that had previously been boarded up on the second story of a building.
Stark briefly talked to reporters on Tuesday and said he was “truly and deeply sorry and saddened” by the news but said he had not yet talked to Uhre’s parents or police about what happened.
