LINCOLN, Neb. (AP) - An Omaha man has been charged with second-degree murder in connection to a fatal stabbing in Lincoln.

The Lincoln Journal Star reports (https://bit.ly/MwU1jT ) LeRon Branch was in Lancaster County Court Tuesday as a judge set his bond at 10 percent of $500,000. The 30-year-old said he understood the charges against him.

Branch was arrested Friday in connection to the stabbing death of Jarvis Long. Long was found the morning of Jan. 16 at Peter Pan Park.

Police Sgt. Greg Sorensen says in an affidavit that Branch told authorities he stabbed Long during a fight involving three men who allegedly attacked him at the park. Branch said Long first attacked him with a knife.

Court records do not list an attorney.
