CHEYENNE, Wyo. (AP) - The newest member of the Wyoming Supreme Court is asking to be excluded from proceedings regarding state schools Superintendent Cindy Hill.

Justice Kate Fox of Cheyenne joined the court in January. The Casper Star-Tribune (https://bit.ly/1f9C7zK ) reports that she filed a brief memo on Thursday asking to be recused.

She didn’t explain why but records show she represented Republican Rep. Rosie Berger of Big Horn last year when Hill threatened to sue Berger over a legislative report she considered libelous.

Justice William Hill recused himself from the Hill case when it was filed last year. He’s married to Mary Kay Hill, a deputy policy director for Gov. Matt Mead.

It’s not clear whether he’ll consider the rehearing of the Hill case.
