COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (AP) - Two-time Olympic silver medalist Sarah Hammer highlights an eight-rider team announced Monday that will compete for the U.S. at the track cycling world championships in Cali, Colombia.

Hammer is a five-time and reigning individual pursuit world champion and the reigning omnium world champ. She’s also part of a team pursuit roster that includes Lauren Tamayo, Kimberly Geist, Cari Higgins, Jennifer Valente and Ruth Winder.

Hammer and Tamayo were part of the pursuit team that won silver at the London Olympics.

Valente will also contest the scratch race in Colombia, while Winder will compete alongside Hammer in the individual pursuit. Elizabeth Newell will compete in the points race.

Jake Duehring will compete in the men’s omnium.

The world championships begin Feb. 26. They run through March 2.
