NEWBURGH, Ind. (AP) - Authorities say the man found dead at a southwestern Indiana Alcoa aluminum plant was from central Indiana.

Warrick County Sheriff Brett Kruse says investigators have identified the dead man as 35-year-old Joseph Nelson of Martinsville. His body found was found Monday morning by workers in the coal-handling system of the power plant at Alcoa’s Warrick Operations along the Ohio River just east of Evansville.

Kruse says investigators believe foul play could be involved because Nelson’s injuries aren’t consistent with an accident, but didn’t release specifics.

An Alcoa spokesman says the company accounted for all of its workers.
