COVE, Ark. (AP) - Authorities say a 75-year-old Polk County man was killed after his vehicle was struck on railroad tracks by an oncoming train.

Arkansas State Police say the collision happened Saturday in the Polk County town of Cove. According to a preliminary report, Claude Franks Jr. of Cove drove across the railroad crossing and was struck by a train traveling north.

Franks was pronounced dead by the Polk County coroner. State police say the train’s engineer was not hurt.
