FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. (AP) - Astronaut Mark Kelly will be the keynote speaker this summer at Lowell Observatory in Flagstaff.
The observatory announced that Kelly, the husband of former Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords, will speak June 7 at the High Country Conference Center.
His presentation will be part of this year’s Lowell Speaker Series.
Officials say his address, “Endeavor to Succeed,” will cover his success in space as well as his personal life.
The retired Navy captain and Giffords are currently collaborating on a book about gun control.
Giffords was shot in the head by a gunman in 2011 while meeting with constituents outside a Tucson shopping center. Six people were killed in the attack.
