SOCHI, Russia (AP) - Finland forward Aleksander Barkov has been ruled out for the rest of the Sochi Games with a lower-body injury.
Barkov was hurt during Friday’s win over Norway.
The Finns play Canada on Sunday in the final game of the preliminary round.
Barkov was drafted No. 2 overall in 2013 by the Florida Panthers. The 18-year-old Brakov has eight goals and 24 points in 54 games this season, his first in the NHL.
Another forward for the Panthers, Slovakia’s Tomas Kopecky, left a game Saturday against Slovenia after getting hit in the head with an elbow in the first period and didn’t return.
