CLEMSON, S.C. (AP) - It’s time to play at Clemson University this week.
A conference put on by the U.S. Play Coalition starts Sunday at Clemson. The meeting is intended to spark discussions on the benefits of children’s play.
More than 200 researchers and advocates are expected on hand for the symposium. They’ll focus on the latest research and practices in the field, and attendee come from fields like education, parks and recreation and medicine.
Speakers include Stuart Brown, founder of the National Institute for Play, and Diana Allen of the National Park Service.
The gathering runs through Wednesday. On Tuesday, Clemson students are encouraged to join in a campus-wide Play Day for at least 60 minutes of activity.
