OCEAN SPRINGS, Miss. (AP) - Ocean Springs police say a 16-year-old boy died Saturday and another was hurt during a chase involving a stolen vehicle.

Jackson County Coroner Vicki Broadus tells The Mississippi Press (https://bit.ly/1dxApqd ) that Markell Hill of Biloxi died of blunt force trauma after being ejected from a 1996 Chevrolet Monte Carlo that crashed in Gautier.

Police Captain William Jackson says officers got into a pursuit at 2:40 a.m. Saturday with the Monte Carlo, which was reported stolen in Biloxi earlier this month.

Jackson says the other unidentified person was taken to Ocean Springs Hospital and is in critical condition.

Jackson says the investigation is ongoing.
