GILTNER, Neb. (AP) - A southeast Nebraska truck driver has been found dead in his semitrailer off Interstate 80 near Giltner.
The Lincoln Journal Star reports (https://bit.ly/1hlDahN) that 56-year-old Charles Westwood’s truck was found off the road just before 7 p.m. Friday.
Investigators say Westwood was east of Grand Island when his truck swerved, went off the road and crashed through a fence. There was little damage to the truck, but Westwood was pronounced dead at the scene.
Nebraska State Patrol spokeswoman Deb Collins says Westwood likely swerved off the road because of a medical emergency.
