SOCHI, Russia (AP) - Give Jason Brown credit - he knows how to get a girl’s attention.
Brown, who is from Highland Park, Ill., posted a photo on NBC’s Olympic Twitter account, which boasts more than 528,000 followers, of him holding a white board with a pink heart drawn in it and a message reading “Sarah Hendrickson, will you be my Olympic Valentine?” Here is a link to the tweet: https://twitter.com/NBCOlympics/status/434570414950346753 .
Hendrickson is the American ski jumper from Park City, Utah, who was considered a favorite for gold coming into the Sochi Games before a knee injury. She finished 21st of 30 competitors. But Brown’s gesture appears to have boosted her spirits.
Hendrickson saw the message and replied on Twitter: “How am I so lucky to be the lucky girl?!?! I would be honored.”
