STATESBORO, Ga. (AP) - Brian Sullivan scored 25 points as Davidson cruised to an easy 88-73 win over Georgia Southern on Saturday.

The Wildcats (15-11, 11-1 Southern) won their eighth in a row and remain one game ahead of Chattanooga in the Southern Conference as the teams prepare to face off on Thursday.

Tom Droney added 14 points for Davison, while De’Mon Brooks had 13 and Chris Czerapowicz 11.

Jelani Hewitt led Georgia Southern (11-16, 4-8) with 32 points.

Davidson scored the final seven points of the first half to stretch a 6-point lead to 13, 45-32, at the intermission.

Georgia Southern opened the second half with a 12-4 run to cut the lead to five, but back-to-back 3-pointers by Sullivan and Jack Gibbs helped push the Davidson lead back out to 10. An 11-0 run later in half provided a cushion as the Wildcats cruised to the win.
