CONWAY, S.C. (AP) - A father and son from Conway face charges involving explosive devices after a police search that began because the dad accused his son of domestic violence.

The Sun News of Myrtle Beach reported (https://bit.ly/1caePqQ) 47-year-old Doug Johnson is charged with possession of an explosive device. Authorities say his 22-year-old son, Kevin Richard Johnson is charged with possession, manufacturing or transport of a destructive device or explosive part for damage, injury or death.

Officers say Doug Johnson reported his son left a voice mail threatening to shoot him. Police say they later found an explosive device on Kevin Johnson when they stopped him walking along S.C. 544. They say he told police he had others at home.

Police say Doug Johnson was arrested after they found nine devices at his address.
