HARTFORD, Conn. (AP) - Substantial portions of the website operated by Connecticut’s health insurance marketplace will be unavailable because two federal agencies are conducting their annual system maintenance activities.

Access Health CT said their site will be affected beginning Saturday at 10 a.m. The Social Security Administration and the Veterans Administration are expected to finish their work by Tuesday, Feb. 18, at 8 a.m.

Individuals who want to have their coverage begin on March 1 must complete their enrollment by 10 a.m. on Saturday, before the maintenance work begins.

Data from Social Security and the VA is used to verify applicants’ identification and determine whether they are eligible for subsidies.

Consumers will still be able to create accounts and shop anonymously to compare plans, but they won’t be able to fully complete their applications.
