CHICAGO (AP) - Authorities say a 3-year-old boy died and three others were injured during a fire on Chicago’s West Side.

The Chicago Sun-Times reports (https://bit.ly/1eBmHy6 ) Friday night’s blaze started around 8 p.m. and eventually spread to a neighboring home in the city’s Austin neighborhood.

Jaantwiaon Edwards was pronounced dead at Loretto Hospital around 9:30 p.m. Another 3-year-old was taken to West Suburban Medical Center and a 56-year-old woman was hospitalized in critical condition. A police officer was also taken to a hospital after suffering from smoke inhalation.

Fire officials say the blaze remains under investigation.
