The body of Leanne Bearden — the woman who went on a world crisscross travel adventure that lasted two years — was found in the woods near a home in central Texas.
Investigators said on Thursday that the body has been confirmed to be the 33-year-old woman, whose disappearance since Jan. 17 has baffled family, CNN reported.
She was last seen leaving her in-laws’ home for a walk, CNN said.
“Leanne was a lovely and remarkable young woman,” her family posted on Facebook. “We will all miss her greatly.”
Her body was discovered by a man in Garden Ridge, who called police. Authorities aren’t ruling out foul play, but aren’t releasing how she died, Fox News reported.
Mrs. Bearden and her husband, Josh Bearden, had spent the last 22 months living a life of adventure. They had climbed Mount Kilimanjaro, gone swimming in the Dead Sea and went to a traditional Indian wedding, to name a few. Mrs. Bearden documented their travels in a blog, CNN reported.
She went missing during a visit back to the United States that started in December.
