NEW PORT RICHEY, Fla. (AP) - A Tampa Bay area man has pleaded guilty to killing a convenience store clerk.

In the middle of his trial, 32-year-old Russell David Lane pleaded guilty Tuesday to first-degree murder after jurors watched video of the robbery.

Lane said in court that his co-defendant, 20-year-old Adam Moyer, was not the one with him during the robbery. The Tampa Bay Times (https://goo.gl/c9DeOa) reports that Moyer’s attorney is asking for a new trial.

The video shows two men wearing hoodies enter a New Port Richey 7-Eleven in January 2012. One man’s face is covered, but the other appears to be Lane, who tussles with 61-year-old Danny Foster. Lane then pushes Foster, who hits his head on the floor. Foster later died from his injuries.

Pasco County deputies later found Lane and Moyer with the stolen money, cigarettes and beer.
