JUNEAU, Alaska (AP) - Democrat Byron Mallott (muh-LOT’) has reported raising more than $230,000 in his run for governor.
Mallott’s campaign released the top-line number after Republican Gov. Sean Parnell reported raising more than $400,000 in his re-election bid.
Parnell filed his fundraising report with the Alaska Public Offices Commission on Wednesday. Mallott has not yet filed. The deadline is Tuesday.
Parnell’s report spanned from last April through Feb. 1. Mallott’s campaign said Mallott’s fundraising total spanned from October to Feb. 1.
Mallott, in a release, said he was inspired by the show of support from Alaskans. He said he would run a “spirited campaign that unites Alaskans around common values and common sense.”
