MILWAUKEE (AP) - Ersan Ilyasova is expected to return to the injury-riddled Bucks on Wednesday night against New Orleans after the forward missed two games with back spasms.
Coach Larry Drew planned to start the 6-foot-10 Ilyasova, giving the frontcourt another body to defend against Pelicans big man Anthony Davis, who is averaging 20.7 points.
Milwaukee is already without its best shot blockers in Larry Sanders (fractured orbital bone) and John Henson, who sprained his right ankle in Monday’s loss to the Celtics.
Backup forward Epke Udoh will also miss Wednesday night’s game with a knee injury, while it’s unclear when forward Caron Butler (ankle) and guard O.J. Mayo (illness/conditioning) will return.
The Bucks, an NBA-worst 9-42, planned to start its 23rd different lineup of the season Wednesday.
