Like rubber-necking motorists who crawl past a car wreck, television viewers seem to be intrigued by young Olympians falling down in the snow.

Three of the five most rewatched moments by digital video recorder owners during NBC’s Sunday Olympics coverage involved female snowboarders tumbling in competition. TiVo said owners of its machine stopped and played back the falls by Great Britain’s Aimee Fuller and Americans Ty Walker and Jessika Jenson.

The gold medal run by American Jamie Anderson? Apparently, smooth excellence wasn’t enough. Also not registering as TiVo favorites were two spectacular spills: the face plant by Switzerland’s Isabel Derungs and the hard fall by Sarka Pancochova of the Czech Republic, who cracked the back of her helmet when her head snapped back and hit the snow.

TiVo’s other two favorites were the acrobatic Russian skater, Julia Lipnitskaia, and American figure skater Gracie Gold.
