At least two people were seriously injured and another 13 sent for medical treatment after a ball-bearings plant in New Hampshire was rocked by an explosion.
A spokesperson for Monadnock Community Hospital reported that 13 patients were treated and released, but another two were airlifted to other facilities for additional care, NBC reported. The Associated Press reported the two who were critically injured are expected to survive.
Emergency responders on Tuesday still don’t know why the explosion occurred. But the blast was felt a quarter of a mile down the road, AP reported.
One machine operator said he was in the parking lot when the blast occurred.
“I was in my car backing out when I felt a rumble and heard a bang,” Paul Clark told AP. “I looked up and snow on the building’s roof was flying into the wind.”
