SPOKANE, Wash. (AP) - After a man was struck by a hit-and-run driver in Spokane at least two more vehicles ran him over without stopping.

Police say it’s likely those drivers may not have realized there was a body in the road.

Capt. Brad Arleth says snow was falling and the road was packed with ice Sunday night when the man was hit near the Mission Street Bridge.

The Spokesman-Review reports (https://bit.ly/1fWgMWP ) a witness says the man was hit first by a gold or tan SUV. Then he was run over by two more vehicles before someone stopped.

The pedestrian died at the scene. Police are looking for the drivers.
